Steve leads the operational and people side of the business which includes recruitment and selection ensuring we only get the best of the best. Co-founder and Director
Graeme co-founded Freeman Clarke in 2012 having run IT services businesses, built commercial software products, and been a corporate IT director and non-executive director. Graeme is responsible for our marketing and sales strategies, oversees our marketing team, and coaches and leads our Regional Directors. His aim is to ensure we build our community of clients and partners, engage with opportunities, and maximise the growth of the business.
Regional Director, Singapore
David joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 and is responsible for our Singapore business. In the past, he has held both executive and non-executive Board positions in the UK and Asia, and owned his own business which he grew to a multimillion turnover and more than 60 staff in just 5 years. David has worked extensively in different business sectors and has run strategic projects driving business growth and value for SME clients. For Freeman Clarke he has worked with ecommerce, travel and property management clients. In his spare time, David can be found traveling, sailing and diving.
Christine joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 as Regional Director for the North West. Before joining us, Christine held a number of IT/Transformation Director roles primarily in the B2B and business services sectors, including RAC Motoring Services and Enterprise Plc. Previously, Christine worked in consultancy for Oracle in the healthcare, shipbuilding, agrochemical, retail and food industries. Christine also has a Non-Executive role at her local NHS Foundation Trust.
Andrew joined Freeman Clarke in 2012 as Regional Director for the West Midlands where he is responsible for the development of the West Midlands team. Before joining Freeman Clarke Andrew was working with a number of SMEs providing consultancy and part time IT Director services after enjoying a successful career which included IT Director roles at Deloitte and Arthur Andersen, and roles in consultancy and software development serving a variety of clients across sectors such as Automotive, Insurance, Utilities, Retail, Hospitality and Defence.
Pippa joined Freeman Clarke in 2014. She runs our East Midlands business as well as being IT director for one of her clients, Dekra. She began her career in pharmaceuticals and then spent many years as an IT director in the automotive sector driving IT and process improvements in diverse areas including retail, manufacturing, logistics, finance and service. She also previously ran her own consultancy specialising in CRM and training, and continues to have a number of charitable roles.
Sally joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 and now leads the Thames Valley team. Before joining Freeman Clarke, Sally was a Global Award-winning Business Coach in the SME sector. Prior to that, she held a number of IT Director roles in the Retail, Insurance and Services industries including Ottakars, Screwfix Direct and Helphire plc. She has also led transformation projects in Marks & Spencer and Zurich Assurance.
Martin joined Freeman Clarke in 2014 and now leads the South East and London teams. He has extensive experience with global companies in sales and marketing as well as senior roles in consulting and leading IT. As an investor and entrepreneur his portfolio career includes chairman and non-executive director positions for technology and property businesses in the UK and overseas. He has sector experience in retail, manufacturing, professional services, media, property, health and entertainment.
Gerry leads our Southern Home Counties team. He has held IT leadership positions in a range of companies including Demon Internet, Tiscali and Lead Forensics. He founded the UK’s first cloud-based CCTV service and has dealt with successful M&A activities at NetNames and Adapt. He has experience of providing IT services to many different business sectors to ensure they support business growth.
Barnaby is part of the Freeman Clarke Thames Valley team. Prior to joining, he had spent the last 9 years in Life Sciences (InVentiv Health). Whilst there, he led teams in EMEA and AsiaPac, outsourced the IT function and built a new IT department for a start-up division of the commercial business. Previously Barnaby has held senior IT positions in software (Mercury Interactive, Hewlett Packard) and IT managed service providers (HCL and Sovereign) and has gained experience in SME’s across multiple industries including financial services, insurance, legal and public sector housing. Barnaby’s skills and experience are most evident in service delivery, infrastructure, support, service management (ITIL), project management and procurement. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 boys (+dog), playing hockey and golf.
Carolyn has joined Freeman Clarke with a wealth of experience at both operational and executive level, with considerable experience delivering robust and cutting-edge IT solutions for business critical, highly-available & secure environments across a variety of sectors including media, healthcare and social housing. Carolyn is highly experienced in formulating and delivering an IT strategy, service management, successful project delivery and business leadership. She has a passion for technology and its use as an enabler to deliver business growth and transformation. Prior to joining Freeman Clarke, Carolyn held senior leadership roles at Castleton Technology Plc, Bromford Housing Group, Alliance Medical Ltd and Autotrader. She holds an MBA from Manchester Business School.
Charles joined Freeman Clarke having held a number of IT Director roles with GlaxoSmithKline covering B2B, B2C, manufacturing, procurement and supply-chain, with international experience across the full IT lifecycle in the Pharmaceutical and Consumer/FMCG sectors. Charles is currently working with clients such as Peppard Building Supplies. He has also worked with a consumer start-up, developing business plans and strategies for new product launches. Charles has also supported a local charity with supplier selection and supplier management as well as overall business and IT risk management. Charles is highly-accomplished in the translation of business needs into tangible and deliverable IT solutions particularly with business processes and how IT can support them, change management and business transformation.
Chris has been with Freeman Clarke since 2013 as IT director for a rapidly expanding professional services group based in the UK but with a growing number of overseas offices. Chris’s focus has been on implementing a CRM system to support their continued growth, drive standards and ensure common reporting. Previously Chris was Group IT Director for Wates Construction, MD for Vanco e-business, and Group CIO for Otis Plc.
Chris joined Freeman Clarke having previously worked for the Home Office as Head of Police Science and Technology Unit. Prior to that he worked on an interim basis with West Midlands Police where he ran the technical transformation of the forces change programme delivering savings in excess of £125M. He’s also worked as a consultant and director with Advoco-Innovart and CIO/CTO with the Highways Agency. Chris has a proven track records in both strategic formulation and execution, and demonstrable evidence of delivering technology enabled infrastructure transformation and business change.
Alan has been with Freeman Clarke since 2014 and has been working with two London based law firms, Royds and Schillings, also Grangewood, a Loughton based building company. Concentrating on reviewing systems and ensuring they are fit for purpose, driving value from existing systems, ensuring end-to-end integration and ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery strategies are in place. Alan also provides IT director services for two not-for-profit organisation, Field Lane and Apley Grange. Previously Alan was IT Director at DWF Fishburns and has also held senior roles at Moto Hospitality and Morgan Cole.
Andy Jones joined Freeman Clarke having had an extensive career in senior IT leadership positions that culminated in being co-founder and CTO for Jewelstreet, an online designer jewellery marketplace. Andy has wide-ranging digital, ecommerce and online experience as well as operational and infrastructure services. He is used to working at board level and setting and delivering strategic direction for IT and making sure it underpins business growth. As well as founding Jewelstreet, before Freeman Clarke, Andy was CTO at Applegate Directory and Outcome Technologies and Group IT Director at Complinet.
David joined Freeman Clarke having successfully held senior IT leadership and director roles in a number of large organisations across a range of sectors, including the International Personal Finance, Centrica, Capita, Fujitsu Services and IBM. David has significant experience creating and executing IT strategies, including delivering major transformation programmes, reshaping the IT capability and partner landscape, digital and mobile solution development, infrastructure deployment and service management. Outside work David enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf and tennis.
David joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 and is working with clients in the automotive, food & beverage research, food manufacturing and distribution industries. Prior to joining Freeman Clarke, David enjoyed a successful career as an IT Director and business owner. As CTO of Delta Financial Systems and previously a software development company he has experience of many types of organisations across multiple industries including financial services, research, distribution, construction and hospitality at board and operational levels. David is an advocate of apprentice schemes to bring young people into the world of IT and provides mentoring to students as they consider entering the workplace.
David brings 30 years of technology transformation and software delivery expertise in the travel, hospitality, insurance, financial and public sectors to Freeman Clarke. Prior to joining, David held a variety of Board level CTO, senior IT Leadership and Transformation roles for Business Start-ups, Consultancies and Corporates. He has run Agile SaaS product delivery, implemented bespoke CRM solutions, defined and delivered business focused IT strategies and technology transformation programmes. David is passionate about developing high performing teams and motivates, coaches and mentors individuals to reach their potential. Outside Freeman Clarke he works with the Charity IT Association and personally it’s family first, sport second with opportunities to cycle, run, swim and play badminton never far away.
David joined Freeman Clarke in 2013 and has been working with some long-term clients including BioCity, the UK’s largest bioscience incubator, P&M Group, a specialist in the design, installation and maintenance of cold stores, Manthorpe Engineering, a major engineering company specialising in performance critical components and the Breaking Free group, who are pioneering digital healthcare platforms. Prior to David joining Freeman Clarke, he was Director of IT at First Response Finance and has also worked within diverse industries at a senior level including healthcare, finance, logistics and retail.
David joined Freeman Clarke having successfully held senior IT leadership and director roles in a number of large organisations across a range of sectors, including the Littlewoods Retail Group, Alfred McAlpine Business Services and McNicholas Construction. David has significant experience of formulating business enabling IT strategies then delivering major transformation programmes involving process optimisation, applications development and infrastructure deployment. In addition, he has a strong track record of identifying and implementing right-fit third-party partnerships. Prior to joining Freeman Clarke, David spent 3 years as Client Services Director at Adept4 Managed IT Services, a consultancy and service provider who specialise in delivering innovative IT solutions to SMEs.
David joined Freeman Clarke in 2013 and works with long-standing clients such as J Tomlinson, an integrated building solutions company and Derbyshire County Cricket Club. David is a versatile, highly experienced, business focused IT Director with a successful career including CIO positions at Barbican Insurance Group, Hornbuckle Mitchell and Punch Taverns as well as management consultancy experience with Ernst & Young. David has significant experience in the consumer goods, hospitality, property management, financial services and engineering sectors.
David joined Freeman Clarke having previously worked in a range of industries including Financial and Commercial. He comes with a background of Electrical & Electronic Engineering and a proven track record in the formulation and execution of practical achievable strategy having delivered significant transformation and business change in a number of organisations. He has worked in environments with strong Regulatory and BCP focus, and also has significant experience in building and mentoring right sized local and global teams.
David has 25 years’ experience in IT services in both management and technical roles. Prior to Freeman Clarke, David built from start-up and sold two IT support companies. David has extensive knowledge of the SME sector working with organisations to apply technology to solving business issues and creating value. David began his career in manufacturing having completed a degree in manufacturing systems management but soon progressed to system analysis and software programming before becoming the MIS Manager for the large group of companies. David has been a Head of IT/IT Director for over 20 years within an array of other sectors including Legal, Training, Not-For-Profit, Regulation, Transport and the NHS. David has a passion for IT and a reputation for turning around poor-performing IT Departments and delivering on his promises. When not working David enjoys spending time with his family (and dog), yachting, skiing, motorcycling, golf and DIY.
David joined Freeman Clarke after working for 10 years in senior corporate IT positions most recently as IT Director with Data Monitor and Hays Recruitment. Additionally he has worked for EY providing IT Due Diligence, Integration and Cost Reduction advice. David joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 to help clients to grow and flourish. He has worked internationally and enjoys building strong relationships with clients enabling him to provide proactive and personal advice and guidance. David, based on the Wirral, joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 as a Principal in the North West region. David’s IT career has included 10 years at Accenture followed by successful IT Director roles in a variety of sectors including Multi-Channel Retail, FMCG, and Financial Services mainly in the Leeds and Manchester area. At Freeman Clarke, David has helped The Big Life Group, a leading Manchester-based charity, and David is currently providing part-time IT Director services to two other clients in Warrington: The Delivery Group, an Ecommerce, Retail and Postal Logistics business; and Assura, a FTSE 250 company, in the Primary Care Property sector.
Fred joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 after more than 30 years’ working within complex organisations in the private and public sector. Prior to joining Freeman Clarke, Fred had a variety of CTO, IT Director and Business Transformation roles across e-Commerce, Direct Marketing, Professional Services, Logistics and other industries. Working with Clients and Technology Vendors, Fred thrives on contemporary business challenges such as Mergers & Acquisitions, Big Data, Cloud, Data Centres, IT Security and Automation. Fred is currently fractional IT Director at GF Holding Ltd, Eden.co.uk and Verco Global and has completed a complex project review for Alternative Futures Group.
Gary joined Freeman Clarke in the middle of 2016 having held senior IT leadership positions at large corporates such as Jarvis, Kingston Communications and HC One. He has considerable experience of business transformation utilising emerging technologies. Currently Gary is working with The Driver Group to lead the transformation of their IT landscape. Gary has also completed IT reviews with Diagnostax and Millenium Care. Gary has previously provided consultancy services in to the SME sector and enjoys working within this sector.
Graham joined Freeman Clarke with extensive experience within professional services, especially the legal sector. Graham has lead on integration projects following mergers and acquisitions, and on the successful roll out and subsequent adoption of case and practice management systems. Graham is keen to ensure the business derives maximum value from any investment in technology, and that it extracts maximum value from existing systems. Graham also sits on the Finance Audit and Governance Committee of a local charity to advise on IT.
Iain joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 and works with AllTruck, specialists in contract hire, truck rental and other related services, where his IT transformation programme won their Business Partner of the Year Award in 2016. He also works with the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Cornelius Group, a European manufacturer and distributor of speciality chemicals, additives and ingredients, and an Education Trust, defining and delivering IT strategies to help them all transform and modernise the technology used and to develop their IT organisation to ensure the clients gain real business value. He has worked with a Facilities Management company, helping to deliver a business optimisation programme and also works with an importer and distributor of cut flowers and citrus fruits, to help them design and move to a new purpose built pack house and distribution facility. Prior to joining Freeman Clarke, Iain held senior IT leadership positions at CEVA Logistics and TNT Logistics.
Ian joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 after having spent a career running complex software, technology and management projects in a number of business sectors including insurance/finance, fast electronic consumer goods, digital and aerospace/defence. His last role was with Regenersis and prior to that Martin-Baker Aircraft. Ian enjoys setting and building IT strategy and delivering through relationships and practical solutions.
Hugo joined Freeman Clarke after working with a range of SMEs as Interim CTO, CIO & IT Director and running change & transformation programmes. Hugo has implemented Cloud solutions, ecommerce platforms, ERP systems and led Agile teams improving productivity. Previously Hugo was IT Director at Sporting Index, where he launched them on all digital channels and took them through two rounds of MBO. Hugo is now working with clients in manufacturing/supply chain and logistics. In his spare time Hugo enjoys working on his family smallholding.
Ian joined Freeman Clarke on the back of a business career culminating in a number of significant IT Director-level roles. Ian has a history of transforming IT functions with some large companies such as Balfour Beatty, Wolseley, Sun Alliance, Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury’s. Ian is also experienced in a wide range of industries including Freight Forwarding, Retail and Wholesale, Health, Manufacturing and Heavy Industry, and Insurance. Ian has worked in global roles and worked abroad in particular in Switzerland and Singapore. Ian is a published author, including three books on IT Management and Strategy. In addition to writing, when not working Ian enjoys photography, art, cinema, reading and sport; he is also a Trustee for a local charity.
Ian has over 20 years IT experience and joined Freeman Clarke after working in senior corporate IT positions, most recently as IT Director at Flowserve. He has spent his career delivering and integrating large scale IT and applications projects and programmes across Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. He has a reputation for transforming IT organisations and creating and leading high performing teams. Ian has strong domain expertise in manufacturing, engineering and supply chain and his specialities include; business solution design, development, implementation & integration, IT governance and change management. When not working Ian enjoys coaching children at his local grassroots football club.
Joe joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 with a wide experience of managing technology for UK and international companies. He is currently working with clients in a range of industry sectors including biotechnology, sports services, intellectual property and wealth management. Prior to joining Freeman Clarke, he held positions such as IT Director at Davies Group and Chief Knowledge Officer at Evotec. John joined Freeman Clarke in mid-2016. John has an operations management background in Hotels and Leisure Clubs and has also provided consultancy services to clients in Leisure, Retail, Insurance and Financial Services, most recently as IT Director at Practice Plan. John’s focus is on ensuring IT strategies and systems implementations help deliver the business goals, and ultimately serve the long term needs of all people in an organisation, with a continuous improvement ethic at the heart of this.
Jon has been a member of Freeman Clarke’s Thames Valley team since 2013 working with Pitmans a Reading based legal company, Kelly’s Storage, a supplier of document management services based at Guildford, Amberjack, a volume outsource recruitment specialist in Newbury and is now with Crown Golf, the UK’s largest golf club operator based near Camberley. Previous positions include IT Director for Whitbread Hotel Company and De Vere Hotels, Change Programme Director for Sainsbury’s, Argos and Habitat, Managing Director of a retail IT services organisation, Chief Operating Officer of a change programme management consultancy, and Professional Services Director for a retail consulting business. Although Jon’s focus has largely been on retail and hospitality he has also been change director for Smiths Aerospace and CIO for Lend Lease Europe.
Recruitment and CPD Manager
Julian joined Freeman Clarke at the beginning of 2017 and is part of our central team. He is responsible for all recruitment, CPD and HR activities both here in the UK and with our newly expanded team in Singapore.
Julian has over 20 years’ experience with recruitment and HR and was most recently with a global charity looking after the recruitment of their international teams. Prior to that he has extensive experience working across a number of sectors including retail, warehousing and consultancy.
Kev joined Freeman Clarke with a career spanning over 30 years in Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Consulting Services, for international market leading organisations. Now working with clients in the recruitment, online retail and building sectors across the Thames Valley and South of England. Kev’s experience encompasses a broad range of IT disciplines, including, software development, business analysis, programme management, supply chain consultancy, executive leadership and digital transformation. Kev has considerable experience in aligning technology to business strategies to maximise outcomes. In particular, on challenging projects in the fields of brand/revenue protection, electronic voting and supply chain traceability solutions. As a member of Executive teams, he has taken instrumental roles in helping to drive the growth of industry leading businesses and the development of new products.
Les joined Freeman Clarke bringing with him extensive business and technical experience gained over 27 years working with major multinational organisations in both the Retail and Energy sectors. Prior to joining, he held a variety of senior IT management roles with The Body Shop International and as CIO was responsible for developing the Technology strategy in support of the business vision, delivering major digital, back-office and technology led initiatives including an SAP transformation programme, Hybris ‘Omni-Channel’ E-commerce solution, CRM platform modernisation, new market integrations, global infrastructure upgrades and the implementation of Microsoft and Amazon managed cloud services. Able to think strategically, Les has a proven track record in delivering high quality, companywide IT solutions and services in complex, global corporate environments and enjoys developing and leading high performing teams in support of business change.
Principal, East Midlands
Martin joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 and has been working with a number of clients within the East Midlands region. These include Barron McCann in Derby, an independent IT service provider specialising in secure installation, support and disposal of distributed IT systems, and Nottingham Trams Ltd who operate and maintain the tram network for Greater Nottingham. Martin has been helping both companies develop their IT strategies and associated implementation plans to achieve challenging corporate goals. Prior to joining Freeman Clarke, Martin held senior leadership roles and directorships at Financial Services and Telecommunications companies including Capital One, TDX Group and Esendex. Additionally he has worked within the Engineering sector for Rolls-Royce, Thomson CSF (now Thales) and Marconi. Holding an MBA from Warwick Business School, Martin has extensive programme management experience and a passion for delivery.
Mat joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 bringing with him 25 years experience in IT from both a management and technical viewpoint. Prior to joining Freeman Clarke, he held senior IT positions in various companies and, most recently, sold his IT software company to a PLC. Mat has extensive experience in the SME sector and enjoys helping companies use the right technology to grow to their full potential. He has wide experience of digital technologies, in particular mobile and e-commerce.
Mat is passionate about getting the younger generations interested in technology and is a STEM ambassador, volunteering at events in local schools.
Michaela joined Freeman Clarke with over 25 years industry experience in IT including business strategy, business analysis/processes, systems and people. Prior to joining Freeman Clarke Michaela ran her own software development and IT consultancy business. She has worked with UK based and International companies in various sectors, having a specialist knowledge of Insurance. She has used technology to enhance business processes, improve collaboration and communication, increase performance, support agile working being particularly passionate about the importance of people during changes in technology. Michaela lives near Bournemouth and mainly works with companies in Dorset, Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire. Currently she works with Esdevium Games in Alton and Churchill Retirement in Ringwood. In her spare time, she likes to be with her family, paddle boarding, cooking and dancing.
Nick joined Freeman Clarke in 2015 and has been working with the West Midlands team for clients in the professional services, logistics and healthcare sectors. Before Freeman Clarke, Nick was IT Director for Royal Mail Group’s commercial businesses and previously held CIO, CTO and IT Director roles at HomeServe, Nestor Healthcare Group and Thomson Reuters.
Paul is an MBA-qualified IT Director, who joined Freeman Clarke in late 2014 after a career with blue-chip companies such as International SOS, RBS Insurance, The Post Office and AIG. Paul uses his extensive IT and business experience with Freeman Clarke clients across London and the South East to help stabilise and grow their businesses through the use of technology. Paul has implemented a cloud-based workforce management solution to help a client constrained by manual processes, a hosted IT platform for a client struggling to recruit specialists in their remote location enabling their staff to collaborate and restructured an IT team to support a client’s business which has now been acquired by a blue-chip organisation. Richard joined Freeman Clarke with over 16 years’ IT leadership experience. Prior to joining, Richard has been both an IT Director and Consultant across industries including construction, consultancy, aviation, relocation, government, commercial and corporate sectors. He is focused on the development and delivery of IT strategies and solutions and specialises in developing IT in growing SMEs. He is also commercially aware with a broad range of experience having worked for world-class organisations including British Airways, Bain & Co and Cap Gemini. Along with his skills in IT strategy, he works hard in developing and managing individuals and teams to leverage their expertise for both their own personal development, the benefit of the organisation and customers.
Roger started his first IT and Unified Communications company at aged 24, building one of the first Microsoft Lync Gold Partners in the UK. Exiting the IT and Telephony businesses in 2012/13 Roger was invited to define and build the SCC ‘Workspace’ Proposition bringing together Unified Comms, Video, Collaboration, End User Computing and Mobile working. This created one of the first truly joined up approaches to new styles of working in the Cloud and Tech native era. Roger’s spare time is taken up with passions for fast cars and motorsport, wine, cooking and golf.
Tony joined Freeman Clarke in July 2014 and is working with a number of clients including Chillisauce, a leading events management company and high-profile city law firm FoxWilliams. Prior to joining Freeman Clarke Tony was CTO at Espresso Education latterly bought by Discovery Education UK, Technical Director at TVnewsweb, an innovative media start-up and IT Director at Ultimate Travel.
Tony is a results-driven and business-led senior IT leader/business technologist with a successful background in B2B, B2C, educational, legal, media, SME and global corporate sectors.
Warwick joined Freeman Clarke with over 20 years experience in managing complex IT environments at board level. He currently provides IT Director services to engineering consultancy Hydrock group Ltd, renewable energy company Future Biogas and biotech company Immunocore. Prior to joining Freeman Clarke, Warwick worked for companies in Engineering Design, Construction and more recently leading a global multi-vendor outsource for the UK’s largest independent logistics and parcel company TNT Express. Warwick is focussed on driving business value from IT and maximising investment in well managed, appropriate technology, so SMEs can focus on their core business.
